Formula 1 has announced the launch of its new immersive racing experience, F1 Box, at Westfield Stratford City in the UK on Friday, August 22nd. Created by the team at F1 Arcade, this innovative experience is making its debut.

F1 Box will bring fans closer to the passion and excitement of Grand Prix racing in a new way. Its unique feature is that players will engage in immersive one-on-one challenges using 12 arcade-style F1 car simulators.

Utilizing state-of-the-art full-motion simulators, 4K screens, stunning audiovisual effects, and race commentary, this new high-intensity experience, centered on competition, continues the innovative spirit and entertainment atmosphere that F1 Arcade creators are known for.

Players get straight to the point – fiercely competing against friends, family, and other fans in two back-to-back races, tracking their performance through real-time data and on-site leaderboards.

F1 Box isn’t about mastering every track or repeatedly setting lap records; it’s about a fast-paced, highly competitive experience tailored to today’s “socially conscious” audience. Dynamic lighting and giant digital screens will create a immersive atmosphere – arrive, start the race, win, and keep going.

This project is Formula 1’s latest experiential innovation, designed to provide fans with a more fun and engaging way to interact beyond the track. It continues the success of F1 Arcade – the brand already has five locations in the UK and US, including London, Birmingham, Boston, Washington D.C., and the newest, Philadelphia. F1 Box is another example of Formula 1 engaging with fans in a new and fun setting.

 Disguise
 

The entire venue is fully automated via Disguise’s API, controlled by its customized gaming system. We manage 300 spatially mapped DMX lanes, LED screens, and real-time updated leaderboards. One NotchBlock extracts player data from the gaming system and displays three different leaderboards during the 20-minute experience. The audio is equally engaging – real-time narration via SockPuppet provides live commentary for the top three drivers of each experience. Our new EX series and API upgrades solidified the F1 Arcade team’s decision to choose Disguise as the best system to realize their vision.

F1 Box will officially open on August 22nd at Westfield Stratford City. Fans can book their experience online at www.f1box.com, and some on-site participation will also be available.

Each experience lasts approximately 20 minutes, including pre-race preparation and commentary. Each race consists of two 5-minute race rounds.
